Description

The papers of Presbyterian minister Howard B. Warren, Jr. (1934-2003) are included with the records of More Light Presbyterians. The bulk of his papers dates from 1991 to 2001, although scattered earlier papers both of his own and of his family are present in the collection. The papers include correspondence, writings, speeches, press clippings, photographs, audio and video recordings, certificates, a guest book and realia. Also in the collection are correspondence, obituaries and tributes donated by his friend and colleague, Ed Towne.

Hist/Bio Note

Rev. Howard Warren (1934-2003) served as a Presbyterian minister, in Milford, Pennsylvania; Mt. Vernon, Fayettefille, and Huntington, New York; Pontiac, Michigan; and Indianapolis, Indiana. After his HIV-positive diagnosis, he began ministering to others affected by HIV/AIDS at the Damien Center in Indianapolis. Warren retired from the active ministry in 1996 and from the Damien Center in 1999. He died in 2003.
