Description

This interview is part of the Hall-Carpenter Oral History Project in the United Kingdom. The interview principally concerns MacGregor's involvement with the GCM and the CCE. The interview also ranges over issues of religion and sexual identity from late 1940s through 1990. The interview was conducted by Margot Farnham.

Hist/Bio Note

Alan MacGregor was born in Manchester, England, in 1930. After attending Oxford College, he lived in Africa until 1965 as a gay man. He returned to England and became active in the Gay Christian Movement (GCM, now Lesbian and Gay Christian Movement LGCM). He also joined the Commission to the Church of England (CCE) to lobby for recognition of LGBT religious rights.
