Rev. Elder Debbie Martin
Biography
The Rev. Elder Debbie Martin retired from a 19-year career as a law enforcement officer in Santa Rosa, California, and heard the call to ministry in the Metropolitan Community Church. She was ordained as a minister in MCC in October of 1999, going on to earn her Master of Divinity degree at Pacific School of Religion in May 2000. She spent four and a half years as Assistant District Coordinator for MCC’s Northwest District, followed by a year and a half as District Coordinator of the Northwest District. She was Associate Pastor of MCC of the Redwood Empire in Guerneville, California for two years.
In 2003 Rev. Martin was elected Elder for Region 1 of the UFMCC and served in that position until she retired in 2007.
Since her retirement, she has been the senior pastor of Open Arms Metropolitan Community Church in Pahoa, Hawaii, where she enjoys the many blessings of her family, children, grand-children, partner, and their two dogs.
