Rev. Megan More, M.Div, is a graduate of Claremont School of Theology, and is presently United Church of Christ clergy on staff at MCC/UCC in the Valley, North Hollywood, California. She is also a Staff Pastor with the First UCC SL church, a cutting edge church in virtual reality as part of the Southern California Nevada Conference of the United Church of Christ. Rev. More is openly transgendered, and through that experience, works now to reach out spiritually to the transgendered community in the greater Los Angeles area and beyond. Coupled with an online preaching ministry which is broadcast every Sunday, as well as her Second Life worship service, Rev. More also sits on the Transgender Service Providers Network panel representing the MCCV, has lectured on transgender issues at various universities, including California State University, Northridge, California State University, Los Angeles, and Occidental College in Eagle Rock. Rev. More has also participated as a lecturer/presenter for the Transgender Religious Leadership Summit at the Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, California, and has participated in the Transgender Leadership Academy/GenderjusticeLA and the Transgender Summit sponsored by the TransGender Law Center in San Francisco and also with Models of Pride. Rev. Megan More’s involvement with the transgender community has been one of outreach and support on a religious and spiritual level, and to help provide a positive role model to transgender youth by her own accomplishments in life, her education and supportive personal and professional life.
Rev. Megan More is a native of California, having lived in the Los Angeles area most of her life. She is also a graduate of California State University, Los Angeles, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in History while openly transfeminine, even when there was no supportive organizations on campus at that time. She is happily married with a very supportive wife of nearly three decades, and is active in her church and community. Rev. More continues to teach when possible, lectures, writes and educates, while she continues her own online ministry.
