Virginia Ramey Mollenkott Memorial Fund
As an eagle stirs up its nest,
and hovers over its young;
as it spreads its wings, takes them up,
and bears them aloft on its pinions… Deut. 32:11
In honor and memory of Dr. Virginia Ramey Mollenkott’s four decades of groundbreaking and visionary scholarship, as well as courageous witness on behalf of LGBTQ+ persons of faith, Virginia’s friends are collaborating with the LGBTQ Religious Archives Network (LGBTQ-RAN) to establish a memorial fund. This fund will endow the newly-named Virginia Ramey Mollenkott Award, an annual award for papers honoring outstanding scholarship in the field of LGBTQ+ religious history. The Mollenkott Award is the preeminent honor for young queer scholars in religion.
Please step up and join the many friends, colleagues and admirers of Virginia Ramey Mollenkott who have given to her memorial fund (see the list below). Here is information on how you can donate to the fund--either giving online with a credit card or mailing a check. You also may expand your generosity by pledging a gift amount that you will fulfill by December 31, 2023. To make a pledge or to get additional information, email mark@lgbtqreligiousarchives.org.
Recognizing Virginia’s delight in watching the escapades of birds, different levels of giving have been named for some of her favorites.
