Hist/Bio Note
Dignity, the National Organization, had a category of member
ships called "At Large" for those individuals who lived away from
big cities. At that time there were Dignity chapters in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh,
Baltimore and Washington. The National Dignity required a
minimum of 10 interested people in an area before granting chapter- in-formation
status. In Harrisburg and the Central Pennsylvania area there were at least 11 people who were
"At Large’1 members. On August 23, 1975; Dignity/
Central Pennsylvania was officially established. An excellent history of the chapter, written in 1985, is held in the Dickinson College Archives. It recounts the political, social, and religious nature of the chapter's activities as recounted from the newsletters
