Martin Cahill donated two collections, his personal papers and records pertaining to Ascent [Wellington], the LGBT Catholic organization in New Zealand. The collection of personal papers [#117] contains ephemera of conferences, church services and gay Christian group newsletters. The collection of materials pertaining to Ascent, includes newsletters, circulars, press releases, and submissions.

Martin Cahill was an active member of Ascent in Welllington and the Homosexual Law Reform Campaign.
